Winter Song
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
when all is buried deep within the Earth.
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
as our heart’s hopes seek a new birth.
In cold and dark, we long
for the light and the warmth of Spring.
Yet, still, in our hearts, we know it is the time
for Winter and all that She brings.
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
when all is buried deep within the Earth.
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
as our heart’s hopes seek a new birth.
Hidden deep, beneath the mounds of snow,
our hearts desires, our dreams that only we know.
Let us be with this time, excruciating though it be.
We need this time to grow within our Mother fully.
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
when all is buried deep within the Earth.
We sing a song of the Wintertime,
as our heart’s hopes seek a new birth.
Oh, Mother, teach us the lessons we must
learn,
to find our way, by every hill and turn --
to seek truth and life --
to test our dreams and ourselves
by the Fire of Love --
to purify our heights
by the Heart that burns deep within.
We sing our song,
we know our way,
we wait,
and are reborn again.
